About
Pocket Lumen started as a shared chat where a few of us kept throwing links at each other. 'Try this one, it's weird but good.' After a year of that we figured the notes were worth cleaning up and putting somewhere other people could read them.
We don't review everything. There's too much on the stores and a lot of it is the same template with a new coat of paint. What we look for is a game that does one thing with real care, whether that's a racing feel, a quiet puzzle loop, or a story that respects your time.
Every game on the site gets played properly before anyone writes a word. Sometimes that means an hour, sometimes a whole weekend. If a game needs ten hours to show what it's about, we give it ten hours. The rating at the end is just our opinion, nothing more scientific than that.
We pay for the games we cover out of our own pockets and keep the lights on with a bit of plain display advertising. That's it. Nobody here gets a cut from a developer for a kind sentence.
